What did I just eat?

Whatever it was, it's still not quite all the way down.

Apparently it was Vietnamese food. I've never had it before today and it was an interesting experience. My mouth liked it, but my body is still undecided (but leaning toward no).

I mean hey, chicken with spicy peanut sauce IS tasty. Whatever I had for desert was also tasty. I'm not sure what it was. It looked like a clear form of row in a bowl of milk and sugar with a couple slices of banana, and it tasted like banana bread. However, eating the gelatinous clear bubbles (which I am assuming are row) was a weird, weird, WEIRD experience for me.

I don't normally think of fish eggs when I think of desert. I guess that makes me uncultured?

Time to Catch Up the World

Well, although so much has gone wrong since I got to Montreal, I'm still happy to be here. Things better start looking up soon though, or that could change.

I tried to buy a bed and some other furniture from Sears. They used my old address when they tried to verify everything with my credit card company (even though I had already updated my address information with Sears). So my credit card company flagged it and stopped the payment along with locking out my credit card. Neither company bothered to tell me though. I found out when I called to see why my bed didn't get delivered.

So I got that sorted out, but it takes two weeks for Sears to reverse the charge to my credit card, which means I don't have any room on it to buy anything for a couple of weeks. So just another delay towards settling in.

Then when I went back to the place that the company here set me up with temporarily, none of my stuff was there. They assure me that the maid only found socks when she went and cleaned the place up. Although that still means that they at least admit to taking my socks. Out of that whole thing I lost three hockey jerseys and a bunch of other stuff. I'm really only upset about the jersey's though. I told them I wasn't sure what the next step to solve this problem was, but that if I didn't hear anything from them I would tell the company what had happened. So now they are investigating everyone who had a key to access the room and they said they will get back to me.

Pretty sucky still!

I had a “Management Meeting” today. We all went out for expensive italian food and then headed to the movie theatre to watch Madagascar. I love getting paid to do things like that :)

I have a very nice couch arriving near the end of June. It pretty much all seems to work out that I will basically be furnitureless until the start of July. It's a good thing I can sleep anywhere. A lot of people would have a problem sleeping on an air mattress for so long I think.

I still have lots of things to unpack, of course with no furniture, I have nowhere to unpack too :P Sort of a conundrum. The kitchen is unpacked at least.

I do have a computer desk at the very least. Though I'm using a lawn chair with it at the moment. I'm always amazed how things can change so much and still stay the same.

I'm going to go see Star Wars again tomorrow :)

Water polo anyone?

Awake Way Too Early

It's been an interesting morning so far. I accidentally smucked this girl on the metro in the face as I was getting out of the car. I feel so bad about it :( I apologized for it, but still, it was a stupid mistake.

I need more sleep.. zzzzz…

I stayed my first night in my new apartment. I can't wait to get all of the boxes open and there contents stored in appropriate places. I'm sure I'll end up just jamming some of them into closets temporarily, and I have no shortage of closet space.

I really look forward to getting some blinds. I waved at someone at the air canada center from my apartment last night, and I'd swear they waved back. Oh well, I'll add blinds to the list of things I need to buy :)

Soon, so very soon! (I hope)

Finally! All of my stuff is going to be coming back to me. I get the internet and cable hooked up tonight. Tomorrow I get my computers and tvs back :) I can't wait to be back and touch with the part of the world that I have been missing.

I got my first piece of mail at my new apartment. The official invitation to my oldest and probably best friends wedding. I still need to find someone to go with me. I know it will be fun. There are a couple of people that I'm thinking of asking, but I expect that the will say no. Still, it never hurts to ask.

Now it's furniture buying time! I need all kinds of furniture. Couches, bed, shelves, projector(is that technically furniture?), and more and more. Maybe I'll even by a kitchen table and some chairs. Oh, and a BBQ, definitely need one of those.

Smile everybody! Life is good :)

Ahh

It's been good, and it's been smooth, and it's been great, and I've made mistakes. Well that's life :)

I've found that it can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to get to or from work depending on certain circumstances. Like today when I was way ahead of schedule but the train was running so I couldn't cut across the tracks. That meant quite the long detour.

I've been sleeping too much and that's leaving me exhausted it seems.

This weekend I'm going to go checkout Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Kingdom of Heaven. I expect both to be excellent!

I am still looking for an apartment. I have one more to look at this Saturday and then I'm going to make my decision and move. I miss all of my stuff that's tucked away in storage. And yeah, ALL of my stuff is tucked away in storage. I'm going through WoW withdrawal.

Plus, I think that I'll enjoy this place even more when I have permanent access to the internet again because I'll be able to spend a few hour surfing concert listings and checking out the smaller independant theatres etc, etc.

I've even been writing some which is cool.

I hope all is well out there :)
